Instrument Instructor

Increase the students you can work with by gaining your helicopter CFII rating.

Instrument Instructor

The Instrument Instructor rating allows you to teach the Instrument Rating and Instrument Instructor license itself. Most flight schools only hire instructors that have both their CFI and CFII, so it’s a valuable rating to add at the end of your training.

  • 18 years of age.
  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Hold a helicopter CFI License.
  • No minimum flight time requirement, but a good estimate is 10 hours.
  • Pass a multiple choice knowledge exam – our TestPrep software covers all subjects in the test.
  • Pass a practical test with our on-site FAA Designated Pilot Examiner – oral exam and flight test.
