Our Helicopters

Get to know the meticulously-maintained helicopters that will carry you through your training.

Robinson R22

The Robinson R22 is a reliable, versatile aircraft, and is arguably the most popular training helicopter around the world.

Its small size makes it remarkably nimble and it requires a light touch to fly. Because of this, pilots who do their initial training on the R22 have little difficulty transitioning to bigger, more stable aircraft as their helicopter career progresses.

It is also very important to consider that most schools use the R22 for training, so having experience with this helicopter is very important when it comes to looking for a job as a helicopter flight instructor.

Ocean Helicopters has a large fleet of newer, meticulously maintained Robinson R22s which is constantly updated.

Guimbal Cabri G2

The Cabri G2 is a modern two-seat helicopter with a three-bladed, fully articulated main rotor and a Fenestron-type tail rotor.

While the R22 design has remained relatively unchanged in almost 40 years, the Cabri G2 brings a wealth of modern technology and safety features to the light training helicopter market, such as the Electronic Pilot Management (EPM) system, mostly composite construction, energy-absorbing structure and seats, and impressive autorotation capabilities.

The handling characteristics are reminiscent of the Airbus EC120, and it makes a great trainer for those looking to move to European helicopters due to the clockwise rotating fully articulated main rotor and Fenestron tail.

Robinson R44

The Robinson R44 is the larger, 4 seat version of the R22. It has a larger engine, hydraulic-assisted controls, and is very smooth and powerful to fly. At present, it is the best-selling helicopter in the world.

The R44 is the helicopter we use with our gyro stabilized camera mount, and is an incredibly stable platform for both aerial photography and video.

All of our vertical reference long line training is flown in the R44, and its extra seating makes it perfect for low-cost aerial surveys.

We currently have several R44s in our fleet including an instrument trainer and one with emergency pop-out floats for operations over water.
