Helicopter Flight Training
At Ocean Helicopters, we focus on purposeful, one on one ground school and helicopter flight training.
Since we operate out of a non-towered airfield in West Palm Beach, all of your training can be performed on location, without wasting your time and money moving to a practice area each flight.
Our helicopter flight school is located at North County Airport, which is situated perfectly between controlled airports such as Stuart, Palm Beach International, and - a little further south - Fort Lauderdale and Miami. This means you get the experience of talking to Air Traffic Control and conducting flights within towered airports without the sometimes lengthy, costly delays that come with operating from them.
Past students of Ocean Helicopters have commented that the real world training we provide has proved invaluable in both their personal flying and their Commercial and Instructors jobs they are currently persuing. Both day and night cross country flights to the Downtown Helistop in Fort Lauderdale are examples of this 'real world' helicopter flight training.
The Downtown Helistop is a helipad situated in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, nestled between high rise buildings, atop a multi-story parking garage. The pad is elevated 115ft above the streets below, and once landed there, you are within walking distance to the Las Olas Riverfront, which hosts a number of restaurants and shops right on the Intracoastal Waterway.
