At Ocean Helicopters, we focus on purposeful, one-on-one ground school and helicopter flight training.
Since we operate out of a non-towered airfield in West Palm Beach, all of your training can be performed on location, without wasting your time and money moving to a practice area each flight.
Our helicopter flight school is located at North County Airport, which is situated perfectly between tower-controlled airports such as Stuart, Palm Beach International, and - a little further south - Fort Lauderdale and Miami. This means you get the experience of talking to Air Traffic Control and conducting flights within towered airports without the lengthy, costly delays that come with operating from them.
'Real World' Helicopter Flight Training
Past students of Ocean Helicopters have commented that the real world training we provide has proved invaluable in both their personal flying and the Commercial and Instructor jobs they are currently pursuing.
One example of this 'real world' flight training is practicing roof-top landings on the Downtown Helistop, which is located in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The helipad is elevated 115ft from the busy streets below, and the approach to it - between high rise buildings - is both challenging and incredibly rewarding.
